We don't offer wedding packages, as we believe your wedding should be bespoke to you...
We think something as personal as getting married deserves individual attention. This is why we offer exclusive use of our private woodland, every wedding is tailored to your needs & wants.
At Hartlington Wedding's we provide use of our exclusive private woodland, a beautiful ceremony space beneath the trees, seating for up to 60 guests and all the practical elements are included.
Make It Yours
Every wedding we hold here will be different, which is exactly how we want it. Rather than offering fixed packages, we'll talk with you about the wedding you're imagining and create an individual proposal around it. There are no prescribed colour schemes or decorations to choose from—it's your wedding, not ours.
We haven't over-dressed the woodland because trees are rather difficult to improve upon. Instead, we've created a beautiful natural backdrop that can be left beautifully simple or transformed to suit your own style.
Flowers and styling can be arranged independently, or we can help create something here. Whether your vision is wild and romantic, gloriously colourful, elegantly understated, or something entirely unique, we'd love to hear it.
Some couples may want little more than the woodland and the people they love. Others may arrive with musicians, armfuls of flowers, and plans for champagne beneath the trees. Both sound rather wonderful to us.
The Woodland
Our woodland sits within the grounds of our home in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Beneath a canopy of mature trees, we've created a permanent ceremony space designed to feel as though it truly belongs there.
Equipped with everything you and your guests need, the woodland is exclusively yours for your wedding. There are no strangers wandering past, no second wedding waiting to begin—we only hold one wedding a day.
Our woodland wedding season runs from the end of May to early September, when the deciduous trees are at their best. As for the unpredictability of the British weather, we have a range of contingency plans which we're happy to discuss with you as your enquiry progresses.
The Ceremony
At present, ceremonies in the woodland are celebrant-led, which gives you enormous freedom to make the ceremony your own.
You are welcome to choose your own celebrant, or we can help you find someone who feels right for you.
Music can be played as you arrive and during your ceremony, and if you’ve always imagined walking through the trees to the sound of live music, we can help make that happen too.
You can also arrange a rehearsal beforehand if you’d like one.
We are currently planning to apply for a licence to hold legal marriage ceremonies here in the future. Until then, the legal formalities can be completed separately, leaving your woodland ceremony free to be entirely about the two of you.
Champagne & Nibbles
Before you say I do, why not offer your guests a glass of something fizzy and some delicious Canapes for them to enjoy whilst they wait for your ceremony to begin. We work with a wonderful local caterer who excels in providing delicious nibbles.
Once your ceremony is complete, take a breath, relax and enjoy another sip of Fizz. We won’t rush you away. Take photos, chat with your guests then when you are ready, leave for your chosen reception venue. There are some amazing hotels and restaurants in the immediate area that excel at this part of your celebration, and we are more than happy to offer recommendations that will continue to fit the style of your wedding.
We don’t hold full wedding receptions here. That isn’t what we’re trying to be. We do one thing, and we do it beautifully

Stay A Little Longer
Why not turn your Wedding into a relaxing countryside escape?
If you’d like to make more of your time here, our two five-star holiday cottages, Kail House and The Lodge, can also be booked for your stay, subject to availability.
They are entirely optional — you don’t need to stay with us to hold your wedding here.
But if you do, it gives you the chance to arrive, settle in and enjoy a little more of the Yorkshire Dales before and after the day itself.

Photographs can show you what the woodland looks like but they can’t quite show you what it feels like....
The quiet beneath the trees. The light coming through the leaves. The sound of birds somewhere above you. Or that rather lovely moment when you walk into the clearing and realise that, for a little while, this whole place belongs to you.

We’ll show you around, make you a cup of tea, and you can stand beneath the trees and imagine the rest.
